Hamster Wheel TV – Blogs & Social Media from David Nicol on Vimeo.
Dave talks about why blogging is a vital activity for vets but why social media isn’t a panacea for business.
The Hamster Wheel is a blog (and networking group) helping vet managers and vet practice owners learn how to work ON your business rather than IN it. Why? Because a lot of things depend on your non-clinical skills. Team happiness, profitability and even your health/well being!
Each week I publish an article, podcast or vlog about vet practice management. Sometimes it’s educational, sometimes it’s commentary on ‘things’ that are happening in our vet world and sometimes it’s just stuff that made me laugh out loud.
And that’s just the thing. I love what we do as vets. We're all in this awesome game we call vet medicine together and if you do it right, it should be hard work, but good fun. Read on and learn how to get off your hamster wheel today. Dave.
Our vet practices are like a leaking bucket of liquidity (otherwise known as cash). In every single vet practice I have ever been involved there has been a huge difference between what work is done and what a client pays. You could be forgiven for thinking that vets are all for adding more onto their clients bills than was done (following the Panaroma expose of Medivet).
But as a regular reader of this blog, you’re probably more likely to know that the opposite is true in most veterinary practices. Most vets are simply throwing the practice profit away by not charging the right price for the time and services they are providing each day.
